There are no set ‘formulae’ of prayers for the Anglican Rosary, allowing users to develop their own method and rhythm of prayer. The Rosary can be said either on its own individually, or as part of a group meditation. The following section will guide you through suggested ways of using the Anglican Rosary.
However, it is important to stress that these are suggestions only and once you become familiar with a basic method of using the Rosary you can then develop a pattern of use that will suit your needs and prayer life. This section will deal with three main points; firstly, how to ’use’ the Rosary; secondly, suggested methods for writing ’prayer formulae’ for use with the Rosary; and lastly a method of using the Rosary as part of a group meditation.
HOW TO ‘USE’ THE ROSARY
Begin with the Cross prayer, followed by the Invitatory Bead prayer and the first of the Cruciform Bead prayers. Then going counter-clockwise begin the first of the Week Bead prayers. Continue to work around the Rosary alternating between Cruciform Bead prayers and Week Bead prayers. After the last set of Week Bead prayers move out to the Invitatory Bead prayer and finish with the Cross prayer.
