A Request from The Hague

Once again I’m delighted to see the interest in the introduction of the Anglican Rosary and how this interest has brought people to our webiste on the Anglican Rosary. It is good to be able to support people in this way.

In an email the author spoke about how he and his wife had been visiting a service at a Catholic Church and saw a person praying the Rosary. Like many, he recognised the value of this kind of prayer and wondered why it was not practiced in the Anglican Church. He of course soon learnt that there is an growing increase in the use of prayer beads or Rosaries in the Anglican Church. He is keen to introduce this form of prayer to his local parish and wanted support to do this.

Of course, it is always helpful to have someone come and do this who has experience. However, sometimes distance and cost are not conducive to such a desire. In which case I feel I can atleast offer support by providing some resources and email support to people like this fellow. It is good to see how our global villiage can be just that little bit smaller in collaberating on projects like this.

Being a student can be a drain on finances, so when someone kindly offers to contribute toward the purchase of textbooks they are very very much appreciated. The other day I received three books from my library wish list from the parish of St Alban’s Anglican Church in Epping following a series of workshops conducted in their parish.

It was a joy to spend time with the folks at St Alban’s and in particular a great joy to have experienced the hospitality of Anne and John, my hosts for the time their. A huge thanks to Anne, John and all the folks there at St Alban’s.

The Anglican Rosary

The Anglican Rosary

The Anglican Rosary

The Anglican Rosary is made up of a Cross and a total of 33 beads; 1 Invitatory Bead, 4 Cruciform Beads and 4 groups of 7 Week Beads.

The design is rich in symbolism reminding the user of key tenets of Christian faith and tradition.

The total number of beads is 33, the number of years of Christ’s life on earth, reminding us that Christ is the source of our faith.

The Cross recalls the saving grace of God; that God acts in our lives to bring us into the Kingdom of God.

The Invitatory bead calls us to prayer; to pray without ceasing. leading into the main prayer string, where we are offer prayers of praise and thanksgiving to God. Read the rest of this entry »

Dear Nathan

Everyone just loved the workshop and they were all so inspired. It’s a great thing you do with these workshops, it is a lovely sharing time that gives us all a real focus on prayer. Something that we need in our busy lives when it is too easy to let prayer slip and become disconnected. You have a very special ministry with this and we were all very privileged to be included.
